Along with Kahlenberg, Vienna Bellevuewiese is one of the best spot to view the city from above! I found this gorgeous location and invited this couple to share a picnic there. It is on top of a small mountain, and there are vineyards all around too, which gives us plenty of landscape options to chose from during our session! We all got there by car, but it is possible to go by bus (38A) as well. And if you go during the fall, dress warm, the wind can be surprisingly cold! I would imagine that the best time to visit Vienna Bellevuewiese is during the end of summer, when the vines are still full and lush. And while fall colours are always gorgeous, greens are definitely great too!
We started during sunset, not before, because we wanted blue hour images! This way I would be able to add some stars in post. We could see them with our own eyes too, but since it was still bright, they were too faded. And the moon was freaking cute! My favourite type of moon! I only wish I brought a longer lens to get an up close image for my personal moon collection. (Not as big as my cloud collection, but growing!)
I just love this session. There is so much magic happening without effort. Their connection to each other is beautiful to witness. Then the light, the view, and the almost night sky just added so much more!
By the way, Jo and Sam are American expats and travel a lot around Europe. They have a lot of tips to share with you! You should check them out! (@average.jo.adventures) Their feed is full of epic landscapes and hidden gems.
Note: Bellevue is French and means “beautiful sight”.
